Litéra and Biscom Announce Interoperability of their Market-Leading Email Security Products for the Legal Industry

Litéra and Biscom Announce Interoperability of their Market-Leading Email Security Products for the Legal Industry

Document Lifecycle Management and Secure File Transfer Leaders Partner to Reduce the Risk of Unintentional Disclosure of Confidential Information over Email

MCLEANSVILLE, N.C., September 27, 2010 –Litéra®, the leader in global document lifecycle management (DLM), and Biscom, the most trusted name in secure file transfer technology for law firms, announced today that the Biscom Delivery server (BDS) application \ and Litéra’s Metadact® metadata management applications interoperate seamlessly in a Microsoft Outlook environment.

The combination of Metadact and BDS offers added protection to law firm email communications by reducing the risk of unintentional disclosure of confidential data and protecting against potential data breaches caused by documents being transmitted over unsecure email.

Upon sending an email with attachments, Metadact® automatically scans and removes the metadata from MS Office and PDF documents. The email and attachments are then transferred as a secure, encrypted BDS delivery. An email will be rerouted as a BDS delivery either on demand by the sender or based on pre-configured policies, including attachment size and file type.

Biscom Delivery Server is a managed file transfer application that allows users to send and receive large files, easily and securely. BDS has been selected by a growing number of AMLAW 200 law firms to replace cumbersome FTP, better manage large e-mail attachments and comply with the growing base of data breach regulations.

Law firm IT organizations are challenged with an increasing number of application plug-ins they must manage that tend to have interoperability issues and impact email performance,” said Charlie Magliato, Biscom’s Legal Practice Manager. “We are pleased that BDS operates seamlessly with Metadact, providing law firms with advanced protection of confidential documents without changing sender behavior.”

Metadact® combines the best of Out-of-Sight® and Metadata Sweeper® to bring you a metadata management utility that reduces the risk of unintentional disclosure of confidential information embedded in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF documents electronically exchanged with outside parties. This user-friendly utility provides a mechanism to analyze and clean documents before they are sent out. It integrates with multiple e-mail systems so users are prompted to remove metadata from documents attached to e-mails prior to sending.

Our goal is to continue to provide clients with applications that seamlessly operate in their environment without conflicts with other applications or additional management complexity,” said Ken Hamlin, Chief Commercial Officer of Litéra. “The combination of our metadata management applications and BDS gives customers a secure document management offering with leading data protection for Microsoft Outlook.”

Litéra Releases Innova Version 6.0; Further Streamlines Document Creation and Automation Processes

Litéra Releases Innova Version 6.0; Further Streamlines Document Creation and Automation Processes

07.06.2010

New Solution Delivers Microsoft Active Directory Configuration Enhancements, QuickDoc Creation, Doc ID Detection and Pleading Modules for 19 More States

MCLEANSVILLE, N.C., July 6, 2010 –Litéra®, the leader in next-generation document lifecycle management (DLM), today announced the release of Innova™ Version 6.0, the latest major release of the leading document automation platform designed to streamline and standardize document creation and automation. Offering new features for Microsoft Active Directory configuration, QuickDoc creation, Doc ID detection and pleading modules for 19 more states, Litéra has further simplified the industry’s leading document automation platform with Innova 6.0.

My firm's products are the legal documents that we produce using the Litéra Innova applications,” said Glynn Fluitt, Manager of Desktop Services at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. "Innova 6.0 has added new features that will allow my users to be more efficient and successful in the document production process.”

Key new features included in Innova 6.0 include:

Microsoft Active Directory integration – Innova 6.0 integrates directly with an organization’s Active Directory (via LDAP), identity management repository. This eliminates the need to configure connections with an external database for the source of its personnel listing.

New QuickDoc feature – Now users can switch a document between different document types. That is, a current Letter open screen can be used to create a new Memo document based on the original information within the letter. The new Innova QuickDoc feature also provides the ability to populate the dialogs from information in a previously saved document or a document on screen without the use of a QuickFill.

New Doc ID capabilities – Now, Innova automatically detects document management system version on the client machine. The Innova database can now support multiple versions of a DMS (or even different DMS’s), multiple verisons of Microsoft Office, as well as multiple version of the Innova client. This allows for a seamless upgrade process when an organization deploys a new desktop environment with updated versions of the firm’s core DMS and Office applications.

New Pleading Modules for 19 More States – Innova has added 19 new states to its pleading module in both the State and Federal venues. Innova now provides for 25 states and over 200 pleading templates out-of-the-box.

Certified Windows 7 / Office 2010 Support – Innova 6.0 is fully certified for use with Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) as well as Office 2010 (32-bit).

Enhanced Numbering Module – Innova 6.0 adds a number of enhancements to its Numbering module, including support for multiple TOC’s in a document and others.

Innova 6.0 is the first new release of Innova since it became a part of the Litéra product portfolio,” said Deepak Massand, CEO of Litéra. “We continue to listen to our customers to meet their needs for a robust, intuitive and easy to use document creation and automation platform.”

Innova is the leading document automation platform used by law firms worldwide to streamline and standardize document creation and automation. Innova is recognized by users as a user-friendly macro/ template package. Its architecture uses advanced multi-level caching and the latest in technology to deliver great speed to maximize user productivity.

Innova became part of the Litéra family of document content lifecycle products following Litéra’s acquisition of SoftWise Corporation in December 2009.

Microsystems DocXtools™ Integrates with Litéra® Corp.’S Change-Pro® for Enhanced Document Comparison
09.01.2009

Downers Grove, IL – Microsystems, a leading document lifecycle solution provider for the legal and life sciences sectors, announces the integration of DocXtools™ with Litéra® Corp.’s Change-Pro® for enhanced legal document comparison.

“The integration of DocXtools and
Change-Pro provides even greater value to Microsystems and Litéra clients,” said Deepak Massand, President, Litéra Corp. “DocXtools comparison intervention and Change-Pro empower document authors to quickly overcome comparison issues and generate a successful document comparison.”

DocXtools software is a collection of document assessment, cleanup and problem-solving tools that help document authors and support teams quality control documents, simplify
document collaboration and reduce document clean-up and preparation time.

DocXtools comparison intervention prepares a document (for comparison) by eliminating characters that may create inconsistent results or be incompatible with comparison engines. For Office 2007, DocXtools offers comparison rendering set preferences, which enhance a user’s ability to save preferences and easily recall them. DocXtools allows a user to refine the workflow to eliminate extra steps involved in preparing and evaluating comparison documents and provides the user with the option to choose native Word,
Litéra Change-Pro and other utilities to compare documents.

DocXtools is part of the Microsystems Knowledge Partnership suite of software-based solutions and expert support.
